The Perks of Working from Home

Ah, the benefits of working from home. With an abundance of fresh, sweet strawberries in the house, I was more than happy to whip up something a little special for lunch today.

Morning and Evening

I woke up at 5:41am this morning and for a moment thought about dragging myself out of bed to watch the sunset. Instead I went back to bed for another 49 minutes. I consoled myself by walking around the backyard enjoying the fresh morning air.

After a long day of work, I headed out to get some exercise. There weren't as many clouds as the evening before, but still it was beautiful. First up, a stop at Fullerton train station. I love how I can get so ridiculously close to the trains.

Then continued walking around downtown Fullerton. Was going to make a stop at Starbucks, but it closed early.

Saw a pack of cigarettes outside a window that had a sign that smoking was not allowed within 25 feet. It struck me as funny...and then I thought it was a photo op.

Ended the evening in Brea and as I drove home, couldn't resist stopping to get a few more pictures of the night sky.

The Drive

I got up exactly six minutes early with the intention of stopping on the way to work to capture the rising sun bouncing off a few buildings. I know that wasn't much time, but it was the best I could do. Alas, I was foiled by the rain and, even worse, the dark gray skies.

While slaving away in the office, the skies cleared up, making for a beautiful, albeit congested drive home.

How I wish the skies would stay this blue forever.

Did I mention the commute was congested? No problem, I was able to snap away.

By the time I got home, I just wanted to lay on the couch and nap the night way. After all, I did get up exactly 6 minutes early. But I got a second wind. So glad I did because the evening sky was more than worth it.

Another Ordinary Day

My mugshot of the day...

It was supposed to rain today, but there wasn't any indication of it. That was there were not signs of rain until 5pm, as I was walking out the door. But it was just a sprinkle really so I don't think that should count.

Stopped by the post office to mail a letter. Now I can officially say, the check is in the mail.

Cloudy skies close to sunset make me happy.

So does this little dog.

Ordinary Day

It was an ordinary day. But it was also a good day.

Went crazy taking pictures of the sunrise on the way to work.

Got a picture of a plane taking off for some unknown destination.

Arrived at work just minutes before my boss.

Last meeting of the day went overtime which meant a long ride home, stuck in traffic. So I took pictures of planes coming in for a landing.

They were lined up like Space Mountain at Disneyland.

Best Shot Monday

On Shutter Sisters, Monday is usually reserved for Best Shot Monday. Today Tracey Clark shared a passion she has for a Shot@Life and asked that we join in a Shot4Shot in support this cause.

My mug shot...not my best and I had to crop it down significantly to make it worth saving.

Our little lovey dovey....

The evening sky...not much sun today...

All's Quiet in the Western Front

Quiet day today. Makes me glad that I stepped outside in the morning light to take a few pictures of the flowers.

We've had some rosebushes in the backyard for years. They must be hardy because they don't get very much love and attention. It makes me sad that they've been ignored for so long.

I'm not really big on taking pictures of flowers, but the light was so pretty and the color of the roses were lovely. So I pulled out my iPhone and took a few pictures until I realized that I still had my camera settings to black and white. Blasted camera, foiled again! At least with flowers, you usually get a second chance so I changed the settings and tried again, this time in color. But as it turned out I liked the black and white so much better.

Black and white....

See what I mean?
