Knowing that next week I'm only working on Monday made Saturday morning coffee even more relaxing.

Earlier this week I planned to go out specifically to take some pictures. Even though the weather wasn't cooperating, I wasn't going to let that stop me. After I cleaned up my room, I packed up my camera, iPad and iPod and headed for Ventura.

I ended up in an area of Ventura I hadn't been before. It was drizzling on my way up the 101, but the clouds had cleared by the time I arrived at the beach. There were others out and about enjoying themselves too. Enough to give me a sense of security, but not so many that I felt impeded.

After walking around and taking pictures for a better part of an hour, I drove to Main Street with the intention of hanging out there until the golden hour.

I took this picture by mistake. For some reason I like it.

After lunch and coffee, I went back to the beach. It wasn't quite the golden hour and the clouds were starting to thicken up. After sitting in my car for about 15 minutes, I decided that the conditions weren't going to be worth the wait so I headed back home. I noticed this neon sign on the way to Ventura and made a note to myself to stop on the back back and take some pictures of it. I missed the exit and almost kept going, but told myself it was now or never so I pulled off on the next exit and back tracked. So glad I did!

But hands down, the best part of the day was hanging out with my baby girl. She spent the day at home watching tv and texting friends so she was ready for some company by the time I got home. Mom and I went to dinner while Brie stayed at home baking brownies. We were watching a movie when she got a text from a friend telling her to come over as some of their mutual friends were at her house. Even though we were having a good time, I encouraged her to go.

This one was in a playful mood so I took over for Brie as she got ready to go to Sierra's.

Fabulous Friday

I just noticed today that the spine of this book commanded me to write...everyday...I plan to!

After working, once again, in my pajamas all day, I got dressed and headed out on a mission to see the world. I first stopped at a park in Brea.

It turned out not to be as interesting of a park as I hoped it would be.

I wandered around a bit, enjoying the sunshine.

I decided to drive to Fullerton. On the way, I noticed another area to walk around.

I walked around the trails for a little while trying to get a good shot of the oil pumps.

I thought this sign was funny. What exactly is a dog nuisance? And who does the removing?

As I got in my car, I saw the sun flare calling out to me. So I captured it.

I continued on my way to Fullerton, thinking about 12 more years and what I was going to do with that, wondering if I'm right to believe that I really have that when I saw a prism in the sky. God's promise to me. I pulled over to take a picture of it, wondering how many others even noticed it.

I wanted to cry. Instead I got back in my car and continued to Fullerton.

I ended up at the train station. It was so wonderful. There were people out there waiting for trains. A Metrolink was just pulling up as I walked to the station. There were a group of Amish people waiting for a train. I wanted so badly to take a picture of them, but I couldn't do that. I did hover around, waiting for a chance, but it never came. I seriously thought they knew what I was thinking even though I acted as casual as I could. I loved the activity at the station. The fact that you could walk pretty much anywhere unimpeded, without security, like it used to be when I was little and we would fly. Those days are long gone when it comes to air travel. It was lovely to experience it at the train station.

Sweet Sweet Thursday

I didn't change out of my pajamas until almost 2pm today. It's one of the perks of working from home. I was on conference calls for most of the days so I didn't even get out of the house until close to 3pm.

Brie came home and wanted to go to an early dinner. We agreed upon BJ's.

Since I had a late lunch, I had a strawberry beignet and she had a chicken caesar salad. Followed by a chocolate chunk pi'zookie

It was so lovely to have some alone time with her.

After we finished dinner, I dropped her off at home and went to take some pictures in the evening light.

I don't know why, but I've been in love with power poles lately.

I headed to Whittier and pulled off the road to take this picture. I've been wanting to do this for the longest time.

Then I went back to Whittier Blvd to snap a few of a motel sign that I noticed yesterday.

Then back to old town Whittier to get a picture of Rick's Drive Thru sign.

As I was getting in my car, I noticed the sun in my side mirrors. I love the sun flare, but note to self...wash your car!
