Self-soothing with a little J-E-L-L-O
It's like a bowlful of medicine.
Trying to take a least one worthy photo which captures the essence of my world that day

Working from Home
Working from home the whole week on a special project, which includes video streaming with the team in Minnesota who laughed at me when I said it was cold here.

Over the Shoulder
Breakfast at my favorite coffee shop with my baby girl. I lugged my big camera in hopes of some candids. Alas, they sat us in a booth, me facing the wrong way and she, not in the mood for a camera facing her way. I made do with an over the shoulder shot.

Working at It
After much hemming, hawing, and even a little room cleaning, I finally made it out of the house.
These days it seems I need to work at not being a hermit.

The Perfect End
It's rare to have her home at a night hour when I'm still awake on a Friday.
Spending the last hours of the day watching Captain Phillips together was the perfect end to a good day. The movie…two thumbs up!

Banana Cream Pie
Cycle 13, Day 3 coincided with National Pie Day. It was all the excuse I needed to head out to The Pie Hole as my reward.
The fact that there was banana cream pie being served didn't hurt either.

Thankfulness in the Ordinary
It's been a while since I was in the office for three days in a roll. I would have thought that I would have felt tired on day three, but it was the day I felt the strongest.
It helped to find thankfulness in the ordinary.

A Spark of Joy
After days of fighting depression and feeling discourage, I finally felt a spark of joy.
It began with an especially glorious sunrise.

5S in the Palm of My Hand
Shattered my cellphone screen on the 27th of December when my nephew told me he was a Giant's fan.
Once, again, work kindly came through.

Books to Borrow
When we were little, the LA County Library had a mobile library and our summer days were filled with excitement when the bus filled with children books would stop on our street. It makes me love this little camper parked outside Ink & Beans filled with books to borrow.

High Hopes
Friday night led me to have high hopes for the weekend. Yesterday, I pretty much lost all my steam after I got back from the store and breakfast with mom. Today, I've been able to stay awake, but have a pain in my leg that hasn't been there before and is preventing me from moving around me.
Unlike yesterday, today I still have high hopes.

Time with Mom
First a stop at the Apple store to check out the iPads so she can FaceTime with Mason. Next breakfast at my new favorite place to go.
It was good to finally share it with my mom.

A Little Cupcake Love
A busy work day kept my mind busy because under it all, I was still feeling a little down. A little cupcake love and a good chat on the phone with my pop did me wonders.
I'm ready for the weekend.

Ink and Bean
"Forgive my poor job at making a heart", he apologized as he passed me my mocha. I smiled at his effort. It didn't look like a horribly sorry sight, after all it was in a lovely black cup with a matching saucer.
I'm always happy to find a new coffee house.

From Start to Finish
For not being excited about going back to work, it was a pleasant drive to the office. Unlike most of the country which is going through a deep-freeze, weather reports promised a balmy 79 degree day and the clear azul skies were an indication that promises were going to come true. Halfway through the drive, my heart became as light as a helium filled balloon and a smile crossed my face. It wasn't until I pulled into the parking lot that I heard on the news that January 6th is the most unhappiest day of the year. I didn't let that rain on my parade.
From start to finish it was pretty darn good.
